They are the coolest experience in the sport, full of good vibes, great training partners, and unforgettable memories. After meeting Christian and the rest of the Globetrotters, you will have a whole new appreciation for the BJJ lifestyle and where it can take you, which could literally be anywhere in the world. All of this starts at the camps.
I truly met some of the most sincere and wonderful people from all over the world. The training was outstanding and the instructors were top notch. I met so many great people. Thank you everyone for being awesome people! Thanks Christian! I had a great time. Met some of the coolest peeps in BJJ! But when I met everyone, no one felt like a stranger — it was like we were all old friends. I still listen to the music we rolled to, and have applied the moves to my game. I am still friends with the people I met, and those relationships somehow grow despite the geographical distance.
I had just finished an early morning roll during the 9AM open mat and was lying on the mat. The sound echoed through the gym and at that moment, I smiled as I reflected on the past four days at the USA camp. It was a group of people so different from one another, but all there for the same reason: our passion for Jiu Jitsu. You show up to one of these camps because you want to. That was the best part of it all; everyone truly wanted to be there. There was no negativity, no cliques, and no one left behind. Everyone was family and wanted to help anyone in anyway possible.
The time spent with all these amazing people will truly be cherished.

I travel quite a bit and have seen some nice places, but this experience tops everything. This tiny island is one of the prettiest places I have been. If the location is already a dream, can it get any better? Since all people stayed together in the same spot, you got to know them quite fast.

Every single person was super lovely — I have never experienced such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Everyone being treated totally equally on the mats was even more fun. The quality of the instructors was high-level, and I took home a lot. I loved the beach trips and especially the boat trip, which was an awesome experience by itself. Not to mention the party on the last day! Being home again, I already booked one camp for next year and am considering two more!
The group of people from all over the world was so warm and welcoming — I felt like I had a whole bunch of new friends from day one. There were so many fun things to do, ranging from surf lessons in the mornings, several training sessions throughout the day, beach trips around the island, the boat trip, and getting to eat at different local restaurants at night. The vibe was so fun and easy-going. It was such an amazing opportunity to disconnect from the craziness at home, and to reconnect with myself and create new friendships in the process. I booked my next camp before I even left! Wonderful people, beautiful location, great opportunity to improve your game with jiujiteiros from all over the world, amazing instructors, unique atmosphere, every day started with surfing in crystal blue water… I could go on.
What else do you need from your perfect vacation? Wanna chill out and take it a bit easier with the training? Just grab one of the cars, hang out on the beach, explore the island, or climb the mountain for a breathtaking view out over the whole island just watch out for cactuses ;-P. This island is just magical! Even getting there is a special and very exciting experience.
Without a doubt, a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one of the best holidays ever. These camps are becoming my healthy addiction. I can say without reservation that the camp was phenomenal and exceeded my expectations! Christian and those behind the scenes do a wonderful job of organizing and coordinating not only classes but also a myriad of other activities. I met and became friends with individuals from all over the world. I participated in daily Jiu Jitsu, surfing, boating, paddle boarding, hiking, and swimming, and loved it all. While I was a bit intimidated by my lack of experience and stripes, people were very welcoming and patient when showing me new moves and techniques.
I left camp not only with improved Jiu Jitsu skills, but more importantly with incredible memories and new and unique friendships. I mean you train really hard almost everyday, you compete even harder to make the podium, and you cross-train with your friends at other gyms. The experience was euphoric and so surreal — I definitely recommend these camps to anyone who loves Jiu Jitsu. I cannot wait for the next camp I am able to attend!
From newly experienced practitioners to seasoned veterans, each individual is incredibly unique and has a story to tell.
These stories could be told by mouth, but, as artists, we tell them when we roll. The 26 hours of classes and the 11 open mats spent together at the USA Camp deeply changed my outlook on life. All of you are some of the most caring and wholehearted people that I have ever had the pleasure to meet and get to know. In the short span of five days, we shared laughter, knowledge, stories, and beers, and made some of the best memories to be cherished for the rest of our lives.
It was a homesick feeling to have to leave all of you and the camp. Thank you for making me feel like family, and thank you for helping me reach all my goals. You will all be remembered and I hope we meet again! But after the first drill, I felt the immediate connection between every participant in this beautiful community. Everyone took care of each other and tried to get the most out of the 4 days. I was blown away by meeting so many new friends in such a short time.
I only knew the 3 people that I traveled with, but when I met everyone else and greeted them, it was like I already knew them. The Globetrotter community brings the most unique and nicest people together, and we are all there for the same reason. They say Winter Camp is the most intense camp and it definitely is — you might need a few days afterwards to recover.
You will not regret it, and you owe it to yourself to experience this. Truthfully, he is not much to look at, lounging during the day on his hammock, sipping coconut water and eating weird European candies. He looks like he can surf, but it is a smokescreen. Then you get on the mats, expecting big things. He sneaks in knowledge bombs undetected, which only detonate once you return to your homeland and roll with unassuming non-Graugarts.
Suddenly you realize you have learned something fundamental and important to the game, but did he really teach you? It is a mystery. You turn around, but no one is there. Was it really him? Impossible to tell.

I wish somebody had taught me BJJ like that before. As most have shared, I had a blast at the USA camp! This is hands-down one of the most memorable experiences in my BJJ career. I already want to book the next one. Unfortunately, as most good things do, this camp had to come to an end.

Thank you to all of the coaches that came out to teach, and thank you to all of you globetrotting peeps for coming out as well. It was and honor and a pleasure meeting all of you. I hope you like what we all went over and hope to see everyone again soon. Safe travels everyone! Until next time! Made so many new friends and got to roll with people of many levels.
The atmosphere is the most important, as it was fun, friendly, and hard on the liver! Leuven is also a super-friendly town with beautiful architecture and, of course, being in Belgium it has great beers. I think we all felt sad and emotional leaving the place, only wanting to do more of this.
I had an amazing time at the USA camp. As always, the best part was meeting all of you jits nerds, and the ever-so-constant flow of new knowledge! Thanks to all the instructors who made the experience an exceptional one, by taking the time to truly coach after a roll, or after a class, highlighting gaps and areas of improvement.
To all of you, I say thank you!!!! From the moment Jonas picked me up at the airport to the second Christian dropped me back off, the week was full of positive vibes from amazing people. Everybody was so generous in sharing their time, experiences, and knowledge, that it began to feel real comfortable, real quick. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will morph into a lifetime of opportunities. Thanks Christian.
It was quite the journey to reach St. I got to surf, train, and explore the island of St. Barth with people from all over the world, making truly lasting memories and friendships. What a great gym and what an amazing camp! Word of advise, if you can, book some extra time after camp to make the most out of your stay in Iceland.
We rented a car and did the ring road, perfect way to stave off the post camp blues for another week. Not only that, they keep getting better. Iceland was one of the most amazing Jiu Jitsu experiences I have ever had, on and off the mats. First off, Mjolnir is the most beautiful, most well-equipped gym I have ever visited.
There are three different mat spaces with different classes in each running simultaneously throughout the camp , there are weightlifting and crossfit areas, there is a massive locker room with showers, a sauna, a hot tub, and all of the necessary amenities, there is a well-stocked pro-shop, and there is even a gym bar crafted almost completely out of wood in Norse mythological themes.
Mjolnir simply must be experienced. Back in the city, the camp had nightly outings to local restaurants and bars with a large, friendly, extremely social presence from the camp community. This social aspect of Globetrotters camps is what really makes them stand out to me — Globetrotters is really a social community tied together by Jiu Jitsu, as opposed to just a way to train all day. Make sure you book a couple of days extra so you can get a glimpse of what Iceland has to offer. We just parked the car near the highway once to take pictures of the nature. They just make you feel really small compared to the nature.
It seriously was a life-changer for me. This one was just the best thing ever yet! As this was my first solo trip, I was very nervous. Upon arriving in St. I made a ton of friends, felt safe the entire time and learned from amazing instructors.
I even had the opportunity to practice yoga and learn how to surf, which was a dream of mine for a long time. This is a once in a lifetime experience that you do not want to miss. I have nothing but great things to say about my time in St. Thank you Christian and team for an amazing experience and trip! It was truly an unforgettable experience that will be tough to top. The camp was a 2 hour ride from Rome which gave me the chance to explore the city for a few days after the camp which is a nice added bonus. Once at the Castle, everything was taken care of. The staff and owners of the Castle were there to make you feel welcome and to accommodate any need.
They went above and beyond my expectations with taking care of us, cooking meals, laundry service, and always being happy. There was plenty of time to train, and if you preferred, there were other activities to do as well. Christian taught all the classes and someone was always up for open mat. With a smaller group, everyone became instant friends and was welcoming. I would highly recommend this trip as there are not going to be too many times in your life that you will have the chance to stay at a castle! Castle Camp was truly epic and I am eagerly awaiting the announcement for next year!
The family atmosphere was peaceful and fun. Although a private and exclusive VIP experience, the relaxed and unpretentious energy created a beautifully balanced atmosphere. The experience of training within an ancient candlelit chapel and also in the open air surrounded by the hills of Umbria was nothing less than magical. This was truly a place and group of people were we felt the power of being all one. I have to say you are a genius. It is a remarkable novel about the civil rights era, and how our memories of that era continue to shape our political landscape and to resonate in contemporary conversations about southern identity.
But, mostly, it's very funny, in a mode that's experimental, playful, sexy, and disturbing all at once. Butler offers a new foreword to the novel. Brannon Costello, a scholar of contemporary southern literature and fan of Butler's work, writes an afterword that situates the novel in its historical context and in the southern literary canon.
